As I previously wrote, I
started with friends in high school.
We were all sitting around on a Friday night
wondering what we should do. I
remember it was snowing, the cable was out
and my parents were out at the neighbour's
house. There were five of us in
our group. We did everything together.
Two of the were guys. We always played
cards but never for money. We would
play for who would do the other persons
chores, homework and even baby sit their
brothers and sisters. I even once had
to paint my friends room. As we got
older we increased the stakes. We all
loved to gamble. The excitement of
getting a full house, four of kind and the
royal flush. The rush from getting a
good hand felt very rewarding like I was
receiving the Nobel prize. Gambling
and ego seem to go hand and hand. When
I was winning I was on top of the world.
From
Poker, I went to Black Jack mixed with
Roulette and then to Slot Machines.
Slot Machines became my preferred gambling
method. I could sit at that machine
for six straight hours or more. I
never thought of food, family, friends or
even going to the rest room. I was
there to gamble and gamble I did.
