I appreciate your words of support. I have been gambling on &
off my entire adult life. My uncle was a bookie & a compulsive
gambler himself & died a broke lonely man. I have been fortunate
enough to recognize my addiction can be self destructive as well
as affect the ones I love. My battle has been more w/ myself. I
have not compromised anyone but myself up til this point. A lot
of $$ I have wasted on gambling should have been savings &
instead I gambled it dismissing it as a small vice when in
reality -deep inside I knew it was more. It is funny, I am a
very strong willed person, Type A all the way, always excelled
in sports & work, I do not drink in excess or smoke, this was my
only bad habit. When I was contemplating going to gamble
somewhere, one part of myself would keeping repeating that it
was a bad idea, but I found myself there anyway. It is always
easy to feel remorse after a loss & than try to justify that it
wasn't that much. I would haggle over spending 10.00 on
something I may need & than think nothing of dropping 100-200.00
in a matter os 15 -20 mins. if I was gambling. I am going to
stop this time because I really want to. I have two daughters to
take care of & raise & even though I have never neglected them
to gamble , I still need to start saving my excess funds & get
started w/ a more focused prosperous future. Thanks
again, Roger
Hi my sister-in-law ,is about to leave her husband due
to his gambling, I suggested that before she due that
try and research about some help for him. I was hoping
if you can send me some websites or program numbers for
her. I don't think a book alone will due it for him .He
has stolen checks from her and signed her name to
withdraw their rent monies and now she is at a lost can
you please help her. Thanks for helping if you can.
Do you have
information available that may be able to assist my
husband? I believe he has a problem with gambling, and
need some advice how to help him, help himself. Thank
you.
My son gambles, I have showed him this site
but no luck. He is going thro all his money and
will go under if this continues, depressed,
single and lonely, any suggestion, so active
gambler annoy. here.
Hi my boyfriend is one of the worlds worst
gamblers, I am trying to get him back to
meetings, but he is very shy, and cant open up,
are there any good books I can buy, that may
help, until he decides to go back,
I
saw your website. I'm interested in more
stories and information. I play the stock
market, and it ruins me, but I cannot stop. I
want to, but cannot. I keep losing, but will
not stop trying to win.
I read your articles, very true. The Lottery is
terrible, and the casinos are just as bad. They should
do something about all the gambling. At the end of all
their commercials they say if you have a gambling
problem call gamblers anonymous, but in reality they
want you to spend all your money, they get richer!
